We are seeking a talented and driven Architectural Technologist to join our dynamic team. Working closely with Project Managers and clients within the industrial design sector, this role requires a high degree of technical expertise, the ability to work collaboratively, and a commitment to delivering innovative solutions and exceptional client satisfaction.Key Responsibilities
  • Preparing engineering drawings using 2D and 3D drafting and modeling software, as well as office software, to produce contract documents.
  • Providing detailed listings of equipment and materials for new industrial construction or renovation projects.
  • Collaborating with clients to ensure concepts and designs align with their needs, expectations, budgets, and deadlines.
  • Ensuring that all drawings are compliant with client requirements, building codes, relevant by-laws, and industry best practices.
  • Addressing client and project issues promptly and effectively.
  • Conducting site visits for documenting existing site conditions and attending meetings during construction.
  • Preparing and reviewing contract administration documentation.
  • Creating CAD and REVIT content while advancing company standards.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Intermediate-level proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT (a portfolio of REVIT projects is required).
  • A solid understanding of architectural theories, principles, and graphic standards.
  • Advanced knowledge of building codes, specifications, and by-laws, including their applicability.
  • Extensive experience in producing architectural drawings and documents.
  • A strong grasp of architectural engineering principles and practices.
  • Access to personal transportation and a willingness to travel for projects.
Education and Experience
  • Diploma or degree in Architectural Engineering Technology from a recognized college or university.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in a computer-aided drafting role with a focus on architectural engineering.
  • Drafting skills tailored to industrial design are considered an asset.
  • Certification or progress towards certification with a professional association like OACETT or AATO is a plus.
  • Experience within the Agri-food, beverage, or pharmaceutical industries is advantageous.
