- Collaborate with hiring managers to understand their recruitment needs and provide guidance on the screening process.
- Post job requisitions internally and externally, and source candidates through the appropriate media - professional organizations, career fairs/educational institutions, cold calling, and other websites/social media forums.
- Screen resumes and interview candidates to determine qualifications.
- Assist with the creation of onboarding documentation (offer letters, agreements, etc.).
- Develop collaborative relationships with business leaders, hiring managers, site admins and stakeholders to foster effective relationships.
- Support creation and maintenance of Job Descriptions as required.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of construction industry trends and best practices for recruitment.
- Other duties and responsibilities as required.
- Degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is an asset.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in full cycle recruitment in a high-volume environment required. Preference would be given to those with construction, heavy civil, oil and gas, mining or similar experience.
- Knowledge of the construction industry and trade unions is required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build superior working relationships.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of provincial employment laws, best practices and legal framework.
- Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills is essential.
- Strategic thinking and excellent organizational skills, including the ability to multi task and to function independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with HRIS systems.
- Advanced computer skills MS Office including Excel, Power Point, Word, Outlook and grievance or document management systems.
- Valid Driver's License required for frequent travel to meetings and conferences.
- Ability to travel to project sites is an asset.
