In-House Counsel - Permanent - 18261About the OpportunityOur client, a private corporation, is a leader in designing, developing and printing of security-sensitive documents including currency, passports, visas, identification cards and other secure documents. There is a current need for a lawyer with 10 or more years of experience to join their legal team.Duties include:
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements with both domestic and international customers
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements with both domestic and international suppliers
  • Identifying legal and business risks associated with transactions and propose mitigation strategies
  • Supporting the corporation's Purchasing and Logistics teams with complex transactions
  • Assisting the corporation's Business Development teams with RFP responses
About YouThe successful candidate will have the following:
  • Be a member of the Law Society of Ontario (preferred) or another Canadian jurisdiction
  • 10-15 years of experience in a law firm and/or in-house setting
  • Experience negotiating and drafting commercial agreements (e.g., non-disclosure agreements, technology licensing agreements, professional services agreements, leases
  • Previous procurement experience (an asset but not required)
  • Experience in the areas of privacy law (an asset but not required)
  • Excellent communication, teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Bilingualism would be an asset but not required
