This position works in the Marketing and Communications Strategy organizational unit. This is specialised strategic communications, marketing and public engagement work across all City departments. An incumbent is responsible for planning, developing, and coordinating communications, marketing materials, developing digital content and campaigns; researching, writing and editing a variety of marketing, communications, and public engagement materials; identifying, assessing, anticipating emerging issues and trends; issues management on complex and controversial topics and establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts. Considerable independent judgement and action are exercised in all aspects of the work. Performs related duties as required.Qualifications include a Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or a related discipline plus considerable related experience or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience. Considerable knowledge of communications, marketing and community partnership and engagement principles, practices, methods, techniques, and related technology. Considerable knowledge of the City’s requirements, programs and activities and regulations, as well as familiarity with municipal programs, services, and the policies and regulations that guide this work. Ability to plan, develop, coordinate, execute and evaluate marketing, communications, community partnership and public engagement plans. Ability to research, write, and edit a variety of materials related to the work and to communicate effectively orally and in writing through various media to internal and external audiences. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts. Driver’s Licence for the Province of British Columbia is required. Please note that a Police Information Check may be required for this position.Salary: $6,730 – 7,011 – 7,319 – 7,629 – 7,946/month (Pay Grade 25) (2024 Rates)
