
Electrical Project Manager - Traffic Signals and Roadway Illumination

- Job Description
- Lead the design and preparation of traffic signal layouts, roadway illumination designs, lane markings, and signage.
- Lead and review the preparation of lighting analysis using AGi32 software to ensure optimal lighting performance and compliance with design standards.
- Develop and review electrical wiring diagrams, schematics, and detailed design documents.
- Perform voltage drop calculations and ensure the electrical integrity of systems.
- Prepare contract documents, technical specifications, and other required documentation for projects.
- Coordinate with hydro companies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (O.Reg. 22/04).
- Prepare accurate and detailed as-built drawings.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and other project managers to ensure successful delivery of transportation projects.
- Provide technical oversight, training, and mentorship to junior staff, including reviewing designs, calculations, and drawings.
- Manage client relationships and oversee project management activities to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards, safety protocols, and quality assurance processes throughout project execution.
- Profile
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Licensed Professional Engineer with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), or a holder of a Limited License with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in traffic signal and roadway illumination design, with a strong understanding of transportation engineering principles.
- Proficiency in design software, including MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
- Experience with SPIDA®calc for electrical analysis is considered an asset.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
- Certification with the International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) in Work Zone Safety and Traffic Signal Design Levels I and II is considered an asset.
- Valid Ontario Driver's Licence (Class G) and access to a personal vehicle for business purposes.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
