
Project Manager – Electrical Distribution Design

- Manage the engineering designs for electrical utility projects and lead the team of designers/engineers (up to 10 employees), including handling budgets, and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Organize and handle multiple projects and portfolios, determine priorities, track progress, manage budgets and invoicing and assess/mitigate risks.
- Clearly communicate design tasks with team members, contractors and clients and facilitate collaboration between all stakeholders, as well as manage daily tasks to ensure team members are utilized and supported.
- Provide technical support by utilizing knowledge on distribution design and processes, support the team on their needs for engaging various design tools (AutoCAD, Microstation, SpidaCalc, PullPlanner etc.), perform quality control on plans, calculations, specifications, standards and stamp drawings.
- Contribute and maintaining high client satisfaction and building long-term relations ensuring best outcome for the project.
- University Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, is preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in managing electrical distribution system design team and projects.
- In-depth knowledge of Canadian regulations, codes, distribution construction standards, client requirements, contract documents and market trends. Strong knowledge of HONI, THESL and Alectra Distribution Standards is an asset.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; knowledge of French is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders to build productive working relationships.
- Strong leadership and project management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with flexibility to adapt to short-notice assignments and shifting client demands.
