
Ride Maintenance Technician Level 1

- Performing daily, weekly, monthly, annual, and other required and documented inspections of low velocity amusement rides and related equipment as assigned. Inspections are visual as well as auditory.
- Maintaining orderly and accurate records of all required inspections and submitting required paperwork to Journeyman Millwrights and Supervision in a timely manner.
- Assisting with weekly inventory counts and daily greasing of amusement rides.
- Communicating the status of assigned rides verbally and in written format.
- Maintaining all assigned equipment in a safe and ready condition according to all applicable codes, laws, rules, company policies, and best practices.
- Working safely and efficiently on all assigned tasks and coordinating with other as necessary to achieve desired results.
- Reading, understanding, and applying information from manufacturer's manuals and blueprints (mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic) for service, repair and or component replacement.
- Providing guest service according to Galaxyland standards including initiating guest interactions, general customer service and maintaining a pleasant and friendly demeanor.
- Maintaining cleanliness and safety standards in all assigned work areas and performing all duties in compliance with Galaxyland Safety guidelines and reporting any unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Completion of a high school diploma, or equivalent.
- Must have a mechanical aptitude and the desire to learn new ride and equipment specifications with the proven ability to adhere to established guidelines and protocols.
- Previous experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in an industrial, amusement, or a related setting and/or with related equipment or machinery is a strong asset.
- A desire to work and learn specific skills in a unique customer service based attraction environment while contributing to the safety and positive working culture of the team.
- Working knowledge of basic mechanical principles such as gear ratios, torque, proper use of common hand tools, common mechanical nomenclature, etc. is an asset.
- Familiarity with common types of bearings, bushings, couplers, shafting and similar power transmission components is an asset.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others in a fast-paced safety-sensitive environment, including while elevated on ladders, platforms, or other structures at heights up to 100 feet above ground.
- This is a full-time position that requires flexible availability including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.
- Must be able to work at heights and obtain and maintain required in-house provided safety certifications.
- Must be able to pass a basic security clearance.
