
Senior Property Accountant

- Review and analyze consolidated rental income, operating expenses, and recovery ratios for assigned regions.
- Oversee the setup and accuracy of straight-line rent schedules.
- Prepare and present detailed analyses of major Net Operating Income (NOI) variances by region.
- Assist with the preparation of Statements of Adjustment (SOA) and related transaction journal entries.
- Prepare tax-related financial statements and supporting working papers.
- Support the preparation of quarterly forecasts and annual budgets.
- Partner with Finance, Asset Management, Leasing, and Tax teams to ensure responsive service and effective collaboration.
- Participate in ad hoc projects and special initiatives as needed.
- Post-secondary degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, Real Estate, or a related discipline.
- 3â5 years of experience in real estate accounting and reporting; experience with retail or commercial property accounting OR Big 4 Audit experience with Real Estate clients is preferred.
- CPA designation (CGA, CMA, CA) is strongly preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Word and Outlook.
- Previous experience with JD Edwards (JDE) and GSS is an asset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments and levels of the organization.
- Highly developed analytical skills, attention to detail, and solid accounting knowledge.
- Proactive self-starter capable of working independently and within a team environment.
- Ability to prioritize effectively and adapt quickly in a changing, deadline-driven environment.
