We are currently looking for a VP, Retail Financing, to join our team, reporting to the Senior VP, Chief Card Services Officer.The Vice President will be responsible for the overall results, effectiveness and performance of the sales and business development department, as well as the profitability and growth of the P&L. The role will also require executive level partnership management, internal forecasting and alignment for prioritization. The role will be well-suited to an individual who can get up to speed quickly, establish positive professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensure operational efficiency, as well as reinforcing Fairstone leadership position in this space with retailers and customers. WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?Management of sales activities
  • Develop and implement an annual strategic sales and business development plan that identifies opportunities, risks and establishes strategies to meet enterprise targets. Build contingency plans to meet annual targets.
  • Manages the operations to ensure that proper steps are taken to increase revenues, control expenses, ensure compliance to company policies and procedures, and prioritizes outstanding customer service.
  • Demonstrates an in-depth understanding of how own area integrates within the overall function to achieve company objectives; requires a good understanding of the industry.
  • Full management responsibilities of people managers, senior and junior account managers, inside sales representatives and trans-functional employees as required.
  • Identify strategic growth opportunities through relationships to provide structure and focus, while leveraging market intelligence to identify new business prioritization and wins.
  • Own, reforecast and adjust strategies on P&L performance. Analyze trends and results, work closely with internal key stakeholders to maximize profitability, and minimize impacts.
  • Improve operational efficiency by prioritizing automation while keeping the customer at the center of every action.
  • Serve as liaison between several teams and services, specifically Risk Management, Marketing, Finance, Product, Technology and other Indirect Lending teams.
  • Analyze, articulate and communicate key business drivers and imperatives across the company.
  • Provide thought leadership in inter-and cross-functional projects
Management of sales forces in a collaborative environment
  • Leads, directs, mentor and support the teams in key selling and partnership interaction.
  • Motivate the teams to achieve objectives by conducting performance appraisals and providing ongoing coaching and feedback.
  • Manages all aspects of human resources to include staff training, performance management, coaching and development, staffing and recruitment, individual performance goals and related human resources issues.
  • Focus the sales team on profitable growth opportunities that will ensure overall revenue targets are achieved.
  • Drive focus and execution across the sales team to ensure effective engagement in the account management process.
  • Lead the sales team in creating and managing a pipeline process across accounts, and expanding the breadth and depth of existing pipeline opportunities through direct and/or indirect sales channels.
Market knowledge
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of the current economic climate and the industry; and how it affects the market.
  • Utilize market and competitive research, and data analysis to create fact-based recommendations, and develop and implement a consistent framework for internal and external sales and operational metrics.
  • Collaborate with the sales, products and marketing teams to leverage our resources for campaigns, events and new product offerings.
  • Keep current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration.
  • 10+ years’ experience in a leadership role in the retail financing and private label card services (consumer finance industry)
  • Experience in the financial and/or lending industry.
  • 5+ years people management and leadership experience
  • Excellent business management skills required in order to negotiate effectively internally, often at senior levels (across functions)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, management, and customers
