Responsibilities:
  • Contribute as part of a team, responsible for delivering business intelligence
capabilities to support internal and external department stakeholders' information
needs.
  • Deliver work products based on various sets of data including (but not limited to)
education, post-secondary education, apprenticeship, finance and census data.
  • Work with a selection of technology products (such as SAP, Power BI) that must address the ever changing
technology and increasing appetite for information from internal and external
department stakeholders.
  • Must be able to work effectively with a team made up of in-house staff and contract
resources.
  • Analyze data and prepare information results.
  • Gather and document requirements.
  • Design and construct information products.
  • Capture business and technical metadata for information products.
  • Gather requirements for control processes including schedule management, status
reporting, issues, risk, and change management at the program level.
  • Produce deliverables within specified quality standards and timeline.
  • Define and performing quality assurance on business intelligence deliverables.
  • Respond to ad-hoc information inquiries.
  • Perform data analysis, data quality audits/reviews, statistical analysis and data mining.
  • Escalate issues and risks, as appropriate.
  • Work within a multi-vendor/staff environment.
Must Haves:
  • Post-Secondary degree, diploma or certificate in Computer Science or related field of study.
  • 4 years Experience with articulating and translating technical language for non-technical customers both verbally and in writing.
  • 4 years Experience with presenting data in queries, dashboards, and reports in a way that is easy to understand.
  • 4 years Direct hands-on experience designing, developing, and optimizing advanced Power BI solutions that transform regulated and complex datasets into actionable insights for policy, operations and executive reporting
  • 4 years Experience planning, conducting, and analyzing findings from, creating representations of, and reporting on co-design workshops with service users.
Nice to Haves:
  • Relevant post-secondary education in areas of supply chain, procurement, business or a related field, Acceptable education includes degrees, diplomas and certificates (minimum 2 year diploma).
  • 2 years Experience in public sector procurement processes with an organization of similar size and complexity as the GoA
  • 4 years Experience with PowerBI, PowerView, Microsoft SQL Reporting, and Analytical Services.
  • 2 years Experience working with large government datasets.
