Type of Employment: Full-Time, Project Term 12 monthsNova Scotia Power is seeking a collaborative and detail-oriented Data Analyst to support our ERP Transformation project. Reporting to the Reporting & Data Lead, this role involves collecting, analyzing, and transforming ERP data, developing reports, ensuring data quality, supporting QA activities, and collaborating with business stakeholders to deliver actionable insights.
Key elements of this role include:
- Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting ERP data to support decision-making across business streams.
- Partnering with ERP functional and technical teams to ensure accurate data integration and transformation.
- Supporting QA activities by preparing test data, validating results, and ensuring accuracy of ERP reports and data migration.
- Conducting data cleansing, validation, and reconciliation to maintain high data quality and compliance with business standards.
- Translating business requirements into functional specifications for ERP reporting and analytics.
- Developing and maintaining dashboards and reports using BI tools (e.g., Power BI, SQL, Tableau).
- Documenting processes, standards, and providing updates on data-related risks, issues, and quality metrics.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience as a Data Analyst, preferably with ERP systems (Oracle Fusion, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite). A combination of formal education and experience will be considered.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases.
- Hands-on experience with BI/reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
- Experience with data migration, cleansing, and transformation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business audiences.
- Ability to work effectively in a complex environment with multiple, shifting priorities.
- Experience with ERP cloud solutions (Oracle Fusion Cloud, SAP S/4HANA, Dynamics 365).
- Familiarity with ERP data structures (Finance, Supply Chain, HR).
- Knowledge of ETL tools or Python for data processing.
- Exposure to data governance and master data management practices.
