
Full Charge Bookkeeper

- Oversee general accounting functions and staff, including invoicing, collections, and payments
- Manage accounts payable, bank reconciliations, and general cash management
- Perform monthly invoicing and ensure timely processing of transactions
- Prepare monthly financial statements, GST filings, payroll remittances, and budgets
- Coordinate annual audits and prepare working papers and supporting documentation
- Report and balance trust funds for Holds (ID Fund) and Strays (Estray Fund)
- Record and analyze Livestock Tribunal funds collected by LIS
- Maintain trust accounts for Livestock Tribunal/LIS, including customized reporting from the LIS accounting system to validate tribunal fund collections
- Prepare Livestock Tribunal accounting records and working papers for the annual audit
- Mentor and develop accounting and support staff
- Provide ad hoc management support and assist with strategic initiatives
- Act as a backup for all administrative staff during absences or staff shortages
- Previous experience in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Experience with trust accounting and audit preparation
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Strong communication and leadership skills with experience mentoring staff
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
