- Prepare all non-technical aspects of the monthly and quarterly financial close
- Assist with technical insurance posting and reconciliations
- Conduct variance analysis and explain key drivers of performance to senior management
- Assist in the preparation of IFRS financial statements, board papers and management accounts
- Assist in the preparation of regulatory reports (BSCR, Statutory Financial, NAIC)
- Assist in the preparation of accounting memos in accordance with IFRS
- Support internal and external audit processes, including documentation, reconciliations, and control assessments
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in financial systems, reporting processes and data quality
- Support senior management with ad hoc projects as needed
- A professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA, or ACCA) is essential
- 3+ years' post-qualification experience gained in the (re)insurance or financial service industries is required; experience within P&C re(insurance) is preferred
- IFRS reporting experience is preferred
- Strong understanding of (re)insurance principles and (re)insurance financial metrics
- Current knowledge of finance systems is required; experience with Great Plains, Wdesk, and Microsoft Office systems is a distinct advantage
- Familiarity with emerging Bermuda CIT and Substance-Based Tax Credits legislation will be beneficial
- Detailed-oriented, organised and able to work under pressure to achieve tight deadlines
- Strong work ethic and the ability to work extended hours including weekends during busy periods is required
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate across departments
- Proactive, adaptable, and driven to improve processes and reporting quality
