
Planner / Scheduler

- Set up schedules (including schedule preparation plan and basis) and proposal schedules plus all associated costing controls and systems.
- Supports business development with proposal efforts and provides input to proposals and client presentations.
- Provides technical guidance, training, auditing, and staffing support for planning/scheduling on projects.
- Reviews and provides input into technical standards, guidelines, and procedures for developing, maintaining and monitoring project schedules.
- Interfaces with designated management and client counterparts for specific planning and scheduling tasks.
- Set project controls guidelines and responsibilities within a Project Execution Plan, as well as implements tools and systems to effectively manage, control and report on earned value management, cashflow, cost, revenue, forecasting and schedule for projects.
- Audits projects to ensure the quality of planning/scheduling.
- Develops and implements planning/scheduling training programs.
- Conducts personnel performance reviews when delegated.
- Participates in interviews for potential candidates and makes recommendations for employment decisions.
- Participates in developing and presenting training classes on designated subjects and on-the-job training for specific processes and practices.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in EPC/EPCM projects, with a focus on planning, scheduling, and project controls management. Experience in cost control, including budgeting and forecasting, is considered an asset.
- Post-secondary education in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience will also be considered.
- Experienced with “Earned Value” Management and Project Management Software.
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Applications & Visio.
- Ability to produce, read and manipulate schedules and scheduling curves/reports.
- Experience in all phases of project lifecycle (proposal, initiation, execution, closeout)
- Home Office and Site experience required.
- Must understand control requirements for Studies through EPCM Project Controls Management
- Self motivated with a willingness to take on increasing responsibility.
