Job Category: Human ResourcesDegree Level: Associate's Degree/College DiplomaJob Description:Our Talent Acquisition Team is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Talent Acquisition Specialist to play a key role in delivering an exceptional recruitment experience. This role primarily supports internal recruitment and unionized hiring. You represent our team and continually look to improve candidate experience, whether that is with external candidates or our existing employees. Employee will be subject to the terms of the Flexible Work Policy Agreement.What you'll do
  • As a trusted partner, you will oversee the full-cycle recruitment process for existing employees, interns, unionized, and hourly positions. You will review resumes, conduct interviews, and evaluate candidates' qualifications and suitability.
  • Support the Talent Acquisition (TA) team on promotions, transfers, and conversions.
  • Support Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) posting requirements by drafting, posting and managing job advertisements across approved platforms.
  • Partner with Hiring Managers and HR Business Partners to understand staffing needs, develop recruitment strategies, and guide internal process opportunities.
  • Maintain up-to-date records in our Applicant Tracking System (ATS), hiring tools, and provide Hiring Managers with comprehensive written reviews of interviewed or screened candidates.
  • Facilitate candidate feedback sessions with Hiring Managers and other people involved in the interview process
  • Serve as a key point of contact for candidates throughout the recruitment process, maintaining timely and professional communication.
  • Monitor and respond to general recruitment inbox inquiries with accuracy and a customer-focused mindset.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate records within the ATS.
  • Support ATS administration, system updates, and data integrity initiatives.
  • Prepare and analyze recruitment reports using advanced Excel functions (e.g., pivot tables, formulas, data visualization) to track hiring metrics, pipeline activity, and time-to-fill performance.
  • Leverage professional networks, including LinkedIn, to support talent sourcing initiatives within the TA team.
What you'll bring
  • Minimum of 2+ years in Talent Acquisition, preferably in internal opportunities or talent management within large, diverse organizations.
  • Experience using professional social networking platforms, particularly sourcing through LinkedIn, to identify, engage, and build pipelines of qualified candidates across a variety of roles.
  • You demonstrate a solid understanding of recruitment processes and best practices, including sourcing, screening, and interviewing techniques.
  • Experience with an ATS, Oracle Recruiting Cloud (ORC) is an asset.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Highly organized with a sharp eye for detail, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
  • Proactive mindset dedicated to delivering exceptional service to Hiring Managers and Candidates.
  • You understand HR functions and have experience working with Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partners, Total Rewards, and other key stakeholders in the business.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to analyze data, build reports, and present insights in a clear and compelling manner.

The estimated salary for this position is $73,800 - $90,200. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate's skills and experience as well as position location and internal equity.
