- Develop and produce detailed architectural drawings, plans, and specifications for a diverse pipeline of projectsof hotels, restaurants, resorts, and renovations
- Ensure that all construction documentation is accurate and complies with project specifications, building codes, regulations, IFC standards and industry guidelines.
- Coordinate permitting activities and documentation required for project development, development permits, and building permits.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate approval processes, ensuring compliance with regulations, codes, and zoning requirements.
- Provide high-quality visual representations of project designs, serving as a rendering support member for the Design Team.
- Support Interior Design coordination for new construction and renovation projects, ensuring seamless integration of architectural and interior elements.
- Coordinate drawings between all disciplines, ensuring effective communication and integration of architectural plans with other engineering disciplines.
- Respond to and track RFI (Request for Information) submissions, actively addressing queries and clarifications from contractors and stakeholders.
- Review shop drawings, conduct thorough reviews of project specifications, coordinate with contractors, and perform on-site inspections as necessary.
- Mentor team members on technical skills, providing guidance and support in areas such as drafting techniques, software utilization, and construction detailing.
- Support the growth and development of the company culture and professionally represent Northland Properties
- Performs other duties as required.
- At least 5 years of architectural experience with relevant project experience.
- Diploma in Architectural Technology (or equivalent).
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to produce a complete set of construction drawings with input from Architects, Consultants, and Senior Building Technicians.
- Experience with preparing and submitting Development and Building Permit submission packages and applications, as well as experience with responding to questions from the Authorities regarding the permit applications.
- Experience in coordinating drawings both with internal resources and with all project consultants.
- Working knowledge of building envelope concepts, construction practices, and building systems.
- Wood Frame Construction experience.
- High-level organizational and time management skills.
- Understanding of construction details, materials, and specifications.
- Great interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented, versatile, and flexible, with excellent creative and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrates a positive attitude, with good initiative and a strong work ethic.
- Working knowledge of the National Building Code of Canada and the British Columbia Building Code.
