- Leading and contributing to research initiatives that align with the Department's strategic priorities in primary care and family medicine.
- Developing and maintaining an independent program of research, including securing external funding through grants and partnerships.
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to design, implement, and evaluate innovative research projects aimed at improving health outcomes and healthcare delivery.
- Disseminating research findings through peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, and knowledge translation activities that engage academic, clinical, and community stakeholders.
- Supporting and mentoring students, residents, and other trainees involved in research activities.
- Participating in departmental meetings, committees, and other academic services as appropriate to the clinical faculty role.
- Contributing to the academic community through peer review, committee service, and engagement with provincial or national research networks.
- MD degree (or equivalent) with board certification in Family Medicine
- Certification by the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
- Must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA)
- Interest and or experience in conducting or analyzing clinical trials.
- Demonstrated scholarship in applied research and collaboration with health system partners
- Strong skills in data analysis, clinical informatics, or population health.
- Effective leadership, communication, and collaboration abilities.
- Graduate training in a relevant field
