Job DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?The role is part of European Operations monitoring and processing of Corporate Events for RBC Capital Markets securities trading businesses and its
clients. The role ensures that Corporate Events are captured, reconciled, monitored and funded where required. The operations role is a first line of defense
to trading businesses, ensures accurate books and records are maintained whilst providing a seamless client experience.What will you do?To ensure all daily tasks / controls are completed in line with the departmental PRIMA maps and procedures.To assist the Team Manager / Department Head on projects, process improvements or new business initiatives as requested.To continue to develop product / market knowledge to ensure daily processes are appropriate to reduce operational risks.To escalate any unusual behavior as well as any processing issues to the Team Manager or above in a timely manner following the Operations Escalation Policy.To understand and know how to locate central RBC policies and ensure PRIMA maps and procedures are up to date and follow RBC Policies.To investigate any processing issues and recommend a course of action to the Team Manager. Once approved, assist in the execution of the proposed change.To support colleagues during busy periods by sharing workloads as applicable. "To provide best in class client services to both internal and external clients by ensuring their queries are responded to within agreed timeframesTo adhere to mandatory training requirements in Talentlink and take a proactive approach to suggesting appropriate additional training as required for the role. Asset Servicing - Responsible for the processing, balancing and reconciliation of positions related to mergers, conversions , and redemptions. Specifically, scrubbing announcements, balancing entitlements, processing mandatory actions, processing and supporting voluntary actions, processing protect and liability notices, processing and allocating dividend and interest payments. Asset Services functions contain the processes to monitor, manage and execute instructions related to corporate actions, stock records and assignments.Managing and processing of corporate action events - Event IdentificationPosition Identification and validationProcessing Option Assignments & Expires - Processing of incoming/outgoing checks and wires for coupons and dividendsThe RBC attestation policy should be adhered to by account preparers and all accounts accurately assigned with an appropriate attestation status within the month end timetable. Where the policy or underlying reconciliation is not sufficiently understood this should be escalated to the approving manager or group headMust ensure they understand and abide by the Payment Risk Standing Order at all times, ensuring the following; all payments have a justifiable business reason as to why the payment is required to be made, all payments will utilise a settlement instruction record when there is potential for a re-occurring payment to be made, all settlement instructions must be appropriately authenticated, all payments/ settlement authentication and/or settlement instruction records must adhere to the Segregation of duties requirements.Position reports directly to Team Manager. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team in a critical Operations role.Maintain regular communication with Front Office Sales and Trading teams, external brokers, and counterparties.Collaborate across internal Operations teams and other support functions, including Financial Control, Product Control, DMO, and GRM, to ensure seamless operations.Liaise with third-party providers, such as Settlement Agents, Nostro Agents, and Central Counterparties, as needed.Uphold RBC’s reputation and ensure operational excellence at all times.Identify and escalate operational risks, loss events, and control deficiencies promptly.Support Capital Markets trading businesses, brokers, and external clients in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Ensure accuracy and attention to detail while meeting tight deadlines.Demonstrate flexibility in working hours during peak periods to support business requirements.Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with internal teams, external counterparties, and third-party providers.Ability to work under pressure in a high-stakes, time-sensitive environment.Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.A proactive approach to identifying and escalating risks or issues.While the role does not involve direct budgetary or write-off authority, the financial and reputational risks associated with this function are significant.
