Job Description***Please note that this is a 1 year fixed term contract position***What is the opportunity?As a Senior Analyst, your role will mitigate legal, operational, economic risk, and reputational risk associated with derivatives transactions. You will also provide quality service to our internal business partners and external clients and represent the Bank in a professional manner at all times.What will you do?Draft and review ISDA confirmations covering plain vanilla and structured OTC derivative transactions initially covering the equity asset classes and thereafter supporting other asset classes, as necessary, and directly negotiate terms of the confirmation with counterpartiesEscalate any unusual behavior as well as any processing issues to the Team Manager in a timely manner following the BCS Escalation PolicyAssist the Team Manager / Department Head on projects, process improvements or new business initiatives as requestedEnsure that all documentation comply with jurisdictional regulations, ISDA and current market practice, or where there are variations, that they are acknowledged and understood by the appropriate individuals and teamsDaily chase and follow up on all outstanding (unsigned) confirmationsEliminate lengthy delays in confirmation execution and escalate inevitable delays promptly and appropriatelyBe an information conduit between London, Toronto & New York Derivative Confirmations teamsTake on ad hoc projects related to cost reduction and efficiency enhancement goalsParticipate in regular team meetings which also includes but is not limited to knowledge sharing on a specific derivative productRegulatory initiatives – assist Regional Management to pre-emptively adapt to evolving regulatory requirements, stay abreast of the latest developments (e.g. DFA, Clearing) and their implications to make recommendations.Track and govern self-identified gaps and audit commentsContinue to develop product / market knowledge to ensure daily processes effectively mitigate operational risksSupport colleagues during busy periods by sharing workload as applicable.
