Komatsu is looking for a skilled Red Seal Electrician to join our underground field service team in Sudbury. Shift: 5x2, 7x7 or 14x14- discussed during recruitment process
Allowances: This role is eligible for additional premiums and company provided service vehicule
Safety Sensitive: Yes- drug & alcohol testing, physical demand fit testing, RCMP criminal record check and submission of 5-year provincial driving record will be required
Travel: Up to 40-60% travel required for this role
Relocation: This role is eligible for relocationKey Job Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical systems on underground mining equipment
  • Perform maintenance, service, and inspections on electrical systems
  • Commission new equipment, including pre-delivery inspections and on-site startup
  • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) to resolve recurring issues
  • Support customers with technical expertise and recommend improvements
  • Complete detailed service reports and documentation
  • Collaborate with engineering and technical teams
  • Mentor junior technicians and support customer teams
  • Maintain a strong safety-first mindset in all work
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Valid 442A Red Seal Journeyperson Electrician certification required
  • Experience with underground mining equipment is considered an asset
  • Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
  • Solid understanding of electrical and industrial systems, with the ability to apply it in the field
  • Willingness to perform work beyond electrical scope, including supporting mechanical, hydraulic, and heavy equipment systems as required
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a results-driven mindset
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and accountability
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working independently or as part of a team
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. unassisted
  • No restrictions for accessing mine sites
  • Valid Class G driver's license with willingness to travel and work overtime as required
