Welcome Home!We’re more than Canada’s largest independent hardware and building supplies retailer—we’re part of communities across the nation.Serving Up Smiles at HomeAs a Cafeteria Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting with the preparation and serving of meals, supporting customers for payment and processing, point of sale system operations, and general sanitary maintenance of the kitchen and cafeteria area. Led by the Cafeteria Supervisor, this opportunity suits someone with strong customer service skills and experience with food preparation.*Please note this is a term position from May 2026- August 2026.Ready to make an impact?   • Assist with serving meals as quickly as possible, refilling steamers, and condiment containers as needed.
  • Assist with food preparation ensuring adherence to established standards.
  • Handle cash and point of sale system during breaks and meals.
  • Maintain cleanliness of cafeteria and kitchen, ensuring condition of equipment and furnishings is upheld.
  • Stock vending machines.
  • Assist with grocery order put away.
We’re looking for:
  • Currently enrolled in full time studies for fall 2026.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain Food Handler Certification.
  • Familiar with proper sanitary practices of maintenance of kitchen and handling of food.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting.
  • The ability to be onsite 5 days a week at our corporate office in St. Jacobs, to accommodate the needs of the role.
