We're currently seeking an Operations Manager to be based at our headquarters in Vaughan, Ontario Canada.Job SummaryAs the Operations Manager, you'll own and drive customer satisfaction by focusing on the objective of on-time performance and quality. You'll be required to influence, lead and develop teams through daily discipline on actions that drive achieving KPIs as well as continuous improvement initiatives that can improve the quality and delivery of products to our customers.You'll be responsible for two locations which include Manufacturing and Distribution. You'll set and deliver against on-time performance standards, and measure, track and improve customer satisfaction levels.This role reports to the Senior Director of Operations.Key Responsibilities
  • Manage operations teams to ensure orders and deliveries meet time, quality, efficiency, accuracy standards, and monthly objectives.
  • Develop and oversee operational leadership to execute required strategies effectively, foster positive employee relations, and maximize the potential of employee engagement.
  • Ensure a safe workplace through systemic and proactive safety and environmental health practices and processes.
  • Facilitate the operation's strategy to incorporate Lean methods and employee involvement, aiming for continuous improvement of our competitive position and operational profitability.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers, carriers, and other transportation providers to secure favorable rates.
  • Monitor and ensure that transportation services meet required quality standards, including on-time delivery, safe transportation, and customer satisfaction.
  • Collect and analyze data related to inventory levels, transportation costs, delivery times, and other key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas where operations are inefficient, delays occur, or costs are higher than expected.
  • Support and ensure compliance with ASSA ABLOY Canada policies and procedures and regulatory agencies, while promoting the Corporate Code of Conduct
  • Perform other responsibilities as required.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering or related technical field of study. A Masters/MBA is highly preferred
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive operational leadership experience
  • Experience with leading integrated operations that include distribution, logistics and manufacturing
  • A track record of developing Lean strategies that achieved positive and quantifiable results
  • Experience with ERP systems

Physical Demands and Working Conditions
  • Manufacturing/industrial environment; some dust and noise
  • Ability to stand and walk daily through manufacturing facility
  • Ability to drive to other business locations in the GTA on a weekly basis
  • Ability to travel occasionally into the U.S. (to visit other ASSA ABLOY factories, conferences, etc.)
  • Valid drivers' license in good standing
