You’ll have a wide range of opportunities to grow and develop your career in an inclusive environment where you’ll feel valued and supported to be your best - both personally and professionally.How You'll Make an ImpactThe Senior Technical Analyst, Portfolio Management is responsible for the development and maintenance of new, robust portfolio construction and analysis tools to support Fidelity Portfolio Solutions’ Portfolio Construction team and Portfolio Strategists. The Developer, and the new tools they create, will contribute to the creation of model portfolios for Fidelity Portfolio Solutions’ prospects and clients in partnership with Fidelity’s Portfolio Construction Managers and Portfolio Strategists. Perform tool administration tasks and develop interactive data visualizations, dashboards, and reports using Tableau Desktop and Power BI.What You Will Do
  • Design and build new tools that help in the process of investment fund selection and allocation in multi-asset class portfolios using Python, potentially applying optimization models
  • Design, develop and maintain databases that support portfolio construction processes
  • Partner with team members in the Portfolio Solutions team, other partners, and third-party vendors to deliver solutions that meet desired outcomes
  • Provide suitable solutions that support and extend the usage of vendor products including MSCI and Morningstar
  • Responsible for the production, communication, and presentation of relevant documentation to colleagues to facilitate knowledge transfers
Skills and Knowledge
  • Knowledge of and experience working with Python, Power BI and VBA in investment and financial applications
  • Experience and proficiency in SQL development, such as Snowflake, Oracle etc.
  • Understanding of object orientated application development and the use of APIs
  • Understanding of Portfolio optimization models
  • Good inter-personal, communication, documentation, facilitation & presentation skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently while being in a team environment
  • Strong problem-solving abilities that are conceptual and innovative
What We’re Looking For
  • Completed University degree (preferably in computer science, engineering or mathematics) or equivalent working experience
  • 7 + years of experience in software development
  • Must have knowledge and experience in developing applications for mutual fund/investment industry.
  • Experience working with Python, Power BI and VBA in investment and financial applications
Nice to Have
  • Business knowledge in one or more of the following areas: asset allocation, fund of funds, fixed income, equities, investment risk
  • Experience working with one or more multi-asset class risk applications (MSCI BarraOne, Morningstar Direct)
