- Monitor Construction Trades compliance with Minto's health and safety policy and the Ministry of Labour's (MOL) act and regulations
- Monitor and Manage traffic management plan as needed
- Ensure Trades have provided all safety documentation prior to start of construction projects
- Review Trades' health and safety policy and program and ensure compliance with Minto's Trades' contract agreement
- Review Trades' corrective measure following MOL work order non-conformance (time and stop)
- Review Trades' management reporting for critical injuries to WSIB
- Review Trades' safety documentation during project implementation
- Conduct health and safety audits
- Maintain safety files and log activities
- Coordinate orientation for new trades on site
- Track safety infractions and reporting on trends
- Report all field inspections and safety talks in health and safety software (e.g. e-Compliance)
- Keep record of Trade health and safety policies, toolbox meetings, safety certifications, etc. (uploaded on e-Compliance and intranet)
- Conduct safety toolbox talks with Minto and the trade workers
- Host and take minutes of joint and worker trades health and safety meetings for the construction team
- Maintain health and safety equipment on site (PPE, fire extinguishers, first aid kits, stretchers, etc.)
- Report to the Site Managers
- Perform manual work such as Repairing guardrails, railings, fences etc….to keep the site safe
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A recognized health and safety designation. e.g. NCSO.
- Health and safety lead or internal auditor training (IHSA) is an asset.

- A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle are required
- Familiar with applicable legislations, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, Ontario Building Code, Provincial Fire codes and Environmental Protection Act is considered an asset
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety or related field is an asset
- Current certification in C.P.R., First Aid and Fall Protection is an asset
- Knowledge of e-Compliance, Microsoft Outlook and Excel software's are an asset
- Minimum of 3-5 years of health and safety experience including program management and development.
- Must have a good understanding of the various workplace roles and responsibilities.
- Certified as a Joint Health and Safety Committee member.
