- Develop and implement HR strategies that support business objectives and foster a high-performance culture
- Partner with senior management to identify talent needs, succession planning, and workforce planning initiatives
- Collaborate with department heads to address organizational challenges, promote teamwork, and enhance employee engagement
- Lead change management initiatives and facilitate organizational development interventions to support business growth and transformation
- Lead and support performance management processes, including performance coaching, talent development, and career planning
- Contribute to talent management initiatives such as succession planning, job standardization, retention strategies, and development planning
- Develop and maintain job descriptions, career paths, and title alignment for assigned areas in collaboration with HR leadership and business stakeholders
- Provide trusted guidance and support to employees and leaders on absence and health matters, work conduct and disciplinary issues, organizational change, and other employee relations matters
- Deliver hands-on HR support to office and warehouse employees, addressing day-to-day concerns and promoting a positive and compliant work environment
- Partner with managers to support effective onboarding, conduct follow-ups with new hires, and drive employee engagement and retention
- Conduct exit and experience discussions with departing employees to gather insights and support continuous improvement
- Manage and administer leaves of absence, including employee consultations, explanation of available options, documentation requirements, and coordination with service provider
- Deliver benefits orientations for new employees and provide ongoing guidance by responding to employee questions and inquiries, ensuring clear understanding of benefit programs, policies, and procedures
- Collaborate as a member of the Health & Safety team, supporting workplace safety initiatives and compliance.
- Work with warehouse and office leadership and employees to address health and safety concerns and support follow-up actions
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, labour relations, privacy, human rights, and other regulatory requirements
- Identify and communicate opportunities to improve HR processes and recommend new policies, procedures, and approaches
- Create procedures and processes to evolve the HR function as the organization scales and grows
- Respond to general employee inquiries and liaise with other business lines as required
- Partner with Payroll and HR team members to coordinate changes impacting employee pay or employment status
- Provide cross-trained support for HRIS transactions, including new hires, benefit enrolments, employee changes and updates
- Support new hire orientation as needed, ensuring continuity of HR operations and a positive onboarding experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent HR/business experience
- CHRP designation or working toward designation is an asset
- 4+ years of experience as a human resources professional, preferably in a distribution environment
- Proven ability to build effective relationships at all levels in the organization
- Self-directed and motivated HR professional who promotes best practices and leads by example
- Strong working knowledge of HR management systems, including applicant tracking systems (ATS), HRIS, and compensation modules
- Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Knowledge in employment legislation including employment standards, privacy, and human rights
