We acknowledge that, with the right support and a strong personal commitment to change, a brighter future is possible.Are you passionate about issues related to homelessness, justice and mental health?The Pod Group is partnering with this organization to place an energetic, highly motivated, and hands-on leader to fulfill the role of the Human Resources Manager.WHY YOUR ROLE MATTERS 🔍Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Human Resources Manager provides leadership in all aspects of human resources within the organization. This role is critical in areas such as recruitment, training, compensation, compliance, and employee relations. The HR Manager will lead and oversee the strategic HR plan and support initiatives related to staff engagement, wellness, onboarding, training, employee health and safety, performance management, and records management.HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT 🎯
  • Leadership: Strong presence with the ability to lead, drive change and influence people to ensure we exceed the expectations of all partners.
  • Initiative & Drive: The key to success as the individual proactively leads the Human Resources function.
  • Strategic HR Management: Partner with the Senior Leadership and Operations Teams to provide support for initiatives including Performance Management, Labour & Employee Relations, Compensation, Leadership Development, Succession Planning, Employee Training and Development, etc. with an emphasis on building a positive and engaged employee experience.
  • Recruitment & Selection: Coordinate, manage and participate in recruitment and selection focused on attracting top talent to the organization.
  • Policy Administration: Develop and implement policies and procedures, embracing an anti-oppressive environment that values equity, diversity and inclusion.
  • Health & Safety: Develop strategic plans in partnership with operations and the Joint Health & Safety Committee.
  • Benefit Administration: Manage benefit administration plans for our employees.
  • HR Administration: Prepare reports, review and update policies and procedures, ensure legislation compliance, records management, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING 🎓
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Commerce, Human Resources, or related field required.
  • Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) and/or Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designation.
  • Minimum five (5) years of progressive human resources experience in increasingly senior positions with successful hands-on human resources experience.
  • Experience working in a non-profit setting is an asset.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment.
  • Knowledge of Canadian employment law, legislation, and best practices.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in coaching, mentoring, and training to impart knowledge and develop skill sets internally.
  • Excellent organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker.
  • Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
