Candidate ProfileThe Intermediate CAD Technologist supports the delivery of building science and restoration projects by developing detailed drawings, coordinating multiple projects, and ensuring accurate technical documentation. Key responsibilities include contributing to CAD/BIM standards, assisting with project setup, improving workflows, performing quality control reviews, evaluating software tools, and providing guidance to junior team members.Key ResponsibilitiesPrimary duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Support team workload planning by tracking drafting needs, communicating task progress, and helping the team stay aligned for efficient project delivery.
  • Contribute to department and project initiatives by taking on responsibilities beyond day-to-day production work and assisting in advancing team goals.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining CAD standards to ensure consistency, accuracy, and efficiency across all building science and restoration deliverables.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and liaison groups to explore emerging technologies, stay informed on industry trends, and help evaluate new software tools for potential integration.
  • Perform quality reviews for team members to support adherence to established standards and promote high-quality design documentation.
  • Recommend and help implement process improvements, including contributing to methods for evaluating their effectiveness and supporting continuous improvement efforts.
Professional Qualifications & Experience
  • Diploma in Engineering Design and Drafting Technology or Architectural Technology.
  • Registration as a C.E.T. with ASET, or equivalent, is considered an asset.
  • 7–10 years of advanced experience working with CAD.
  • Exposure working with Revit is considered an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce high-quality, error-free work.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to client service and technical excellence.
