Adecco is currently hiring a full-time experienced Financial Reporting Specialist to join our client's office team in Calgary, AB. In this position you will play a key role in delivering accurate, timely, and compliant financial reports to support decision-making across the organization. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this position ensures adherence to Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS), strengthens internal controls, and contributes to process improvements that enhance efficiency and reduce risk.Location: Calgary, AB (hybrid- 1 day from office)Shift: Monday to FridayJob type: Temporary | Full-timeHere's why you should apply:Paid weekly accurate and on timeStrong health and safety programsMedical and dental benefits once qualifiedFree training programsNew and quicker onboarding processResponsibilities:Prepare accurate financial reports in accordance with Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS).Develop and maintain supporting documentation and reconciliations for all transactions.Assist with internal and external financial reporting, including monthly variance reports, FIRS, PSI, and other required submissions.Support the preparation of year-end working papers and annual audit requirements.Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reports for internal stakeholders.Review daily and month-end journal entries for accuracy.Research and draft accounting issue papers, ensuring consistent application of accounting policies.Ensure risks are identified, managed, and addressed in line with governance processes.Monitor compliance with legislation, regulations, and internal policies.Provide expertise in risk management and legislative compliance strategies.Recommend improvements to financial policies, procedures, and controls to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.Deliver financial insights to support executive decision-making.Work closely with Executives, Deans, Directors, and staff to navigate financial systems, processes, and policies.Evaluate and recommend process improvements to optimize operations and protect resources.Ensure financial processes align with regulations, policies, and best practices.Liaise with internal departments to ensure understanding and compliance with financial policies.Lead initiatives to improve the quality, timeliness, and efficiency of reporting and controls.Partner with the Financial Controller, Assistant Financial Controller, and Associate Director on special requirements and strategic initiatives.Prepare and complete position papers, special assignments, and regulatory reports.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA designation or working towards one is an asset.Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in financial analysis and reporting.Strong knowledge of PSAS and advanced financial reporting expertise.Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong business acumen with the ability to link financial performance to organizational strategy.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven.Ability to clearly present findings and recommendations to all levels of leadership.Proactive, self-motivated, and a collaborative team playerMust be legally eligible to work, and reside in CanadaAre you interested in this position?
