- Processing semi-monthly& monthly payroll cycles accurately and in compliance with federal and provincial legislation
- Maintain payroll records, employee data, and timesheets
- Administer statutory deductions, benefits, taxable items, and adjustments
- Preparing journal entries, remittances and ROE’s.
- Prepare payroll reports and assist with reconciliations and year end activities (T4’s etc.)
- Respond to payroll related inquiries with professionalism and clarity
- Support audits and compliance requirements specific to financial services
- Maintain employee files and HRIS data with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including documentation and system updates
- Support the preparation of employment letters, contracts, and internal documentation
- Support tracking of vacation, leaves, and attendance
- Assist with benefits administration, enrollments, and employee inquiries
- Support compliance initiatives, regulatory reporting, and internal audits
- Work closely with the Payroll Manager to improve processes and ensure operational excellence
- Provide day to day HR support to employees and managers
- Assist with HR projects, reporting, and data analysis
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and service oriented HR function
- 2–4 years of experience in payroll and/or HR administration
- Strong understanding of Canadian payroll legislation and provincial employment standards
- Experience with payroll and HRIS systems (ADPWorkforce is an asset)
- High attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy
- Excellent communication skills and a customer service mindset
- Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize in a fast paced environment
- PCP certification (or working toward it)
- Experience in financial services, banking, or another regulated industry
- Experience supporting multiprovince payroll
