In-Person or Virtual Locum Family Medicine Physician - Addictions: Provincial Addictions Treatment CentreOur client in PEI is seeking short and long term full time Family Medicine Physicians with additional training and experience in addiction treatment to provide facility-based in-patient and community-based out-patient addiction treatment either in-person or virtual.The Family Medicine Physician - Addictions is responsible for providing daily coverage to the inpatient withdrawal manage unit at the Provincial Addictions Treatment Facility and may provide outpatient withdrawal management services and participate in multi-disciplinary rounds. The physician will provide both hospital and community-based services as part of a multi-disciplinary team.Hours of WorkFull or part-time, regular office hours Monday-Friday up to a maximum of 37.5 hours/week.Evening clinic hours may be available depending upon health system need.RemunerationFee For ServiceIncentivesApplication fees with the Medical Society of PEI and some application fees with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of PEI will be covered.Cost of return travel to Prince Edward Island based on an economy airfare to a maximum of $2,000. If travelling by car, mileage will be reimbursed as determined by PEI Treasury Board rates and bridge and road tolls reimbursed with submission of receipts. Reimbursement for travel by car is not to exceed the cost of economy airfare. Reimbursement for travel over $2,000 will be considered with prior approval from the Locum Program Coordinator where no other options exist.Option A:$200/day with no receipts; orOption B:Reimbursement for car rental up to $1,400 weeklyAccommodations up to $300 nightly, with receiptsDaily stipend of $50 (no receipts required) to cover incidentals.Car rental and accommodations exceeding the rates indicated above require advance approval by the Locum Program Coordinator.Non-working days: For Options A & B, locums will be reimbursed as per their selected option, where this cost is less than the return travel home on off days. Reimbursement for non-working days will be considered with prior approval from the Locum Program Coordinator.Certifications and Eligibility RequirementsEligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Prince Edward Island;Eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada;Hold MCCQE Part I or Licentiate of Medical Council of Canada (LMCC) equivalent;Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA);Additional training and experience in addiction treatment, both inpatient and community based settings;Work experience preferable with at least 1- 2 years of clinical experience working in CanadaInterested and qualified candidates, please submit their resume and cover letter to:Rohini Patel
