Family Medicine Physician - Addictions: Provincial Addictions Treatment CentreOur client in PEI is seeking a Family Medicine Physician with additional training and experience in addiction treatment to provide facility-based in-patient and community-based out-patient addiction treatment.The Family Medicine Physician - Addictions is responsible for providing daily coverage to the inpatient withdrawal manage unit at the Provincial Addictions Treatment Facility and may provide outpatient withdrawal management services and participate in multi-disciplinary rounds. The physician will provide both hospital and community-based services as part of a multi-disciplinary team.Hours of WorkFull or part-time, regular office hours Monday-Friday up to a maximum of 37.5 hours/week.Evening clinic hours may be available depending upon health system need.RemunerationThe Addictions Family Physician will have a choice of pay modality for Addictions work: salary, contract-for-services or fee for service.Providing addiction treatment facility based inpatient care on weekends and holidays as part of physician call schedule. This is considered outside regular salaried or contract-for-service hours and is paid on a fee-for-service basis.Salary Pay ModelHourly Rate: Hourly rate + 31% of approved shadow billings.Hours per week: 37.5 hours/week, 1950 hours/year. *prorated for part-time.Vacation: 4-6 weeks/year depending on experience. *prorated for part-time.Sick: 11.25 hours/month for each continuous month of service.CME: Up to 75 hours per year and $5000 per year (for 0.6FTE or higher).RRSP Contributions: Yes.Group Insurance Benefits: Yes.Contract for ServicesHourly Rate: Hourly rate + 31% of approved shadow billings.Hours per week: 1725 per year - can be divided by physicians as they like.Vacation: Unpaid - Physician directed.Sick: Unpaid - Physician directed.CME: Funding available through MSPEI.RRSP Contributions: Not applicable.Group Insurance Benefits: Not applicable.Fee for ServiceHourly Rate: Billing as per the tariffHours per week: Physician directed.Vacation: Unpaid - Physician directed.Sick: Unpaid - Physician directed.CME: Funding available through MSPEI.RRSP Contributions: Not applicable.Group Insurance Benefits: Not applicable.Charts and support staff: Responsibility of the physician.Refer to the Family Medicine Earning Potential Guide to understand the various payment options and potential compensation.Additional information related to blended payments (shadow billings); on-call payments; salary benefits including paid vacation entitlements, CME funding, RRSP program can be provided.IncentivesMoving Expense reimbursements are available.Opportunity to teach Medical Learners and Residents with faculty appointment at affiliated universities.Community and Hospital-based electronic health record system with access to diagnostic reports available.Other incentives may be applicable, ask for additional details.Certifications and Eligibility RequirementsEligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Prince Edward Island;Eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada;Hold MCCQE Part I or Licentiate of Medical Council of Canada (LMCC) equivalent;Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA);Additional training and experience in addiction treatment, both inpatient and community based settings;Work experience preferable with at least 1- 2 years of clinical experience working in Canada.Interested and qualified candidates, please submit their resume and cover letter to:Rohini Patel
