- Conduct research necessary to produce comprehensive technical publications;
- Apply expertise to interview Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and define requirements;
- Incorporate aircraft modifications in the IETM, as well as define appropriate supporting illustrations;
- Co-ordinate the preparation and the validation of texts, as well as other technical information documents related to customer requirements;
- Perform validation/verification (val/ver) on aircraft if required;
- Assist clients in the proper use of electronic manuals (IETP, IETM and MAS Viewer) as needed;
- Raise technical problems;
- Collaborate with the e-Pubs team, System Developer, Illustrator, Multi-Media Designer, Editor and Translators to enable the completeness of the work task and the necessary update to the technical publication(s);
- Verify and check the preparation of illustrations, photographs, diagrams, as necessary;
- Support the Electronic Publications Manager by providing writing effort estimates for customer approval;
- Provide inputs for continuous improvement;
- Provide status reports to the Electronic Publications Supervisor on assigned tasks.
- Possess a diploma or certificate in an aerospace related field or relevant experience in the armed forces or a minimum of 5 years in technical publications;
- Experience in aeronautics (avionics, mechanical or engines);
- Must be highly proficient in English and able to produce high quality reports and documentation;
- Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings and documents;
- Must have an in-depth knowledge of ATA-2200 & S1000D International Specification for technical publications;
- Must have in-depth knowledge of SGML, XML and Simplified English;
- Must have in-depth knowledge of Arbortext Epic Editor for creation of documents in SGML or XML;
- Knowledge of Office applications: Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Visio.
- The knowledge of the French language, other than the English language is necessary due to contractual requirements.
- Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO Secret security clearance;
- Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
