- You will direct the environmental planning and impact assessments for multi-disciplinary projects in nuclear, transmission, renewable energy, infrastructure, mining, and oil and gas sectors.
- You will guide the preparation of regulatory roadmaps, environmental permit plans, environmental protection plans and monitoring plans, and the implementation of environmental monitoring programs.
- You will undertake quality reviews of project deliverables, including EIAs and technical documents that support regulatory approvals.
- You will offer technical leadership to the team, providing strategic advice and oversight, and using strong project management skills to deliver high-quality products and services to our clients.
- You will consult with regulators and clients, and oversee innovative programs that engage Indigenous communities and project stakeholders.
- You will contribute to the growth of the team by developing and maintaining strong working relationships with key clients, identifying new project opportunities, and supporting proposals for the team.
- You will support the team's workload and resource planning, contribute to the group's business plan, and work with your colleagues to develop marketing strategies.
- You will mentor junior and intermediate staff, identifying career goals and development opportunities for them, and for yourself
- You will ensure health and safety policies are followed and be a role model for WSP's Life Saving and corporate values.
- You will primarily be home/office-based, but will travel for short duration trips and events.
- Bachelor or Master degree in planning, environmental studies, environmental science, environmental engineering or a related discipline
- At least 10 years of experience conducting and managing EIAs in Ontario, or elsewhere in Canada
- Experience managing complex projects and multi-disciplinary teams
- Experience with business development, proposal writing and building client relationships
- Experience as a Project Manager, Senior EIA Specialist or Senior Environmental Planner
- Experience working with Ontario and federal regulators
- Experience in the planning and delivery of stakeholder and Indigenous engagement programs, including the use of innovative virtual engagement tools
