
Specialist Process Engineer

- Lead technical activities, provide design solutions, resolve critical design challenges for new, updated and modified Candu Nuclear Steam Plant (NSP) process systems, structures and components.
- Provide technical supervision, guidance, mentorship, and leadership related to NSP system design and operation.
- Act as authority for NSP systems.
- Perform thermal hydraulic evaluations on complex systems.
- Prepare and /or review design documents for Nuclear Power Plants; e.g., Design Calculation, Design Requirements, Assessments, Technical Specifications, Drawings, Bill of Materials, System Code Classification, Engineering Quotation Request and Tender Technical Evaluations.
- Ensure applicable code, standards and regulatory requirements are met.
- Support Engineering Management with timely updates on engineering progress and project planning.
- Interface with internal and external stake holders.
- Ensure adherence to company quality program.
- Perform walkdowns, attend site visits and meetings as required.

- Registered as a Professional Engineer in Ontario.
- Engineering degree from an accredited University in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering or Engineering Science.
- A minimum of 20 years of experience and 10 years leading teams in CANDU nuclear process-system design/analysis, providing design solutions for CANDU nuclear power plants, particularly on the Heat Transport and Auxiliary systems.
- Experience performing work to nuclear power plants procedures and practices and qualifications for nuclear power plants engineering activities.
- Experience performing heat balance and thermal hydraulic evaluations.
- Experience in nuclear process system design and layout.
- Site experience in construction, or commissioning of plant mechanical systems for nuclear or other heavy industries is an asset.
- Knowledge of analytical tools used for mechanical and process design; e.g., ANSYS, Mathcad, Flomaster, NUCIRC, CATHENA or similar.
- Working knowledge of/experience using nuclear Codes and Standards, including CSA N285.0, ASME Section III, and REGDOC-2.5.2.
- Working knowledge of/experience with the CSA B51 standard, ASME B31.1 codes and other nuclear-power plant applicable standards or regulatory guides related to permanent plant components, pressure boundary equipment, and/or reactor systems.
- Must have excellent technical/practical skills and solid understanding of CANDU design to resolve engineering issues or technical problems.
- Demonstrate good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
