Convergint is currently recruiting for a Systems Integration Foreman to join our growing team in our Toronto location. As the Systems Integration Foreman, you will be responsible for delivering complex capital projects within a Public-Private Partnership (P3) environment by leading the technical coordination, design validation, and integration of multi-system solutions.   • Engage with end users, general contractors, consultants, and trades to translate operational needs into integrated technical design requirements.
  • Participate in design development and review sessions, ensuring systems and devices align with project output specifications and stakeholder expectations.
  • Support interdisciplinary coordination efforts to ensure seamless integration of security, IT, AV, and building automation systems.
  • Construction Document Development
  • Contribute to the creation and refinement of construction documentation, including device layouts, integration diagrams, technical schedules, and installation details.
  • Collaborate with design consultants and internal teams to ensure constructability, coordination, and compliance with integration strategies.
  • Maintain version control and traceability of changes in design documentation throughout the lifecycle of the project.
  • Specification and Compliance Review
  • Evaluate shop drawings, submittals, and integration plans for compliance with project output specifications, industry standards, and end-user requirements.
  • Identify deviations or gaps and coordinate clarifications, alternate proposals, or design modifications to uphold technical and contractual compliance.
  • Track approval status and ensure timely review cycles in alignment with project milestones.
  • Third-Party Provider Coordination
  • Manage the scope, schedule, and deliverables of third-party vendors providing specialized services such as predictive wireless surveys, network assessments, or system modeling.
  • Develop scopes of work, review deliverables, and coordinate technical input to ensure that outsourced services are integrated into the project effectively.
  • Liaise between third-party providers, the design team, and the construction team to align outputs with broader integration objectives.
  • Integration Planning and Interface Management
  • Define and document integration points across multiple building systems to ensure interoperability and coordinated deployment.
  • Manage interface dependencies, including sequencing, cabling, configuration, and commissioning between systems.
  • Collaborate with technical leads to mitigate integration risks and preserve operational continuity.
  • Test Environment Setup and Evaluation
  • Establish and configure lab or test environments to conduct bench testing of devices, firmware, and system functions.
  • Simulate operational conditions to evaluate integrations and pre-validate performance ahead of site deployment.
  • Maintain detailed logs of testing conditions, configurations, and outcomes for internal QA and stakeholder review.
  • Acceptance Testing and Functional Demonstration
  • Develop test scripts, acceptance criteria, and evaluation frameworks for Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and integrated commissioning.
  • Conduct or oversee functional testing to confirm compliance with design intent and output specifications.
  • Present test results and system demonstrations to client representatives, commissioning agents, and third-party reviewers.
  • Technical Documentation and Reporting
  • Produce detailed records of configuration parameters, integration maps, interface schedules, and test documentation.
  • Generate reports for internal QA, stakeholder decision-making, and compliance audits.
  • Maintain documentation libraries in coordination with document control protocols.
  • Quality Assurance and Construction Support
  • Participate in site reviews, inspections, and mock-ups to validate proper installation and adherence to integration standards.
  • Collaborate with field teams and trades during installation to resolve integration challenges and verify system readiness.
  • Support punch list development and closeout processes with a focus on system functionality and integration fidelity.
  • Operational Readiness and Handover Support
  • Assist in the development of transition-to-operations plans, including training documentation, SOPs, and maintenance handbooks.
  • Ensure integrated systems are fully documented, tested, and handed over in a state that supports long-term operation and maintainability.
  • Daily Operations
  • Monitor and oversee on-site activities to ensure progress aligns with project plans.
  • Conduct morning briefings with site personnel.
  • Address and resolve any on-site issues or conflicts.
  • Health and Safety
  • Enforce compliance with safety regulations and protocols.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and meetings.
  • Report and address any safety incidents promptly.
  • Coordination
  • Communicate effectively with subcontractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
  • Update construction schedules as required and ensure deadlines are met.
  • Manage deliveries of materials and ensure proper inventory.
  • Quality Control
  • Verify work quality meets project specifications.
  • Perform site inspections and document findings.
  • Collaborate with engineers and architects on technical requirements.
  • Reporting and Documentation
  • Prepare daily progress reports and submit to project manager.
  • Maintain accurate records of materials, personnel, and machinery.
  • Document any delays or changes to the project plan
  • Problem-Solving
  • Proactively identify potential issues and create mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure the resolution of on-site disputes between teams or contractors
  • Executes all work in accordance with Provincial, local regulations, general best practices as well as company health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Always acts as “our customer’s best service provider” thereby ensuring Convergint is the customer’s first choice for service.
  • Communicates with and works with the other team members consistently to improve overall operations of the Convergint Technology Center, and company.
  • Keeps up to date and informed on all company policies.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
What You’ll Need
  • Strong knowledge of integrated building systems including security, IT infrastructure, RTLS, nurse call and building automation.
  • Ability to interpret and develop technical drawings, system schematics, and construction documentation.
  • Skilled in stakeholder communication, technical facilitation, and multidisciplinary coordination.
  • Familiarity with project output specifications, performance-based design, and compliance tracking.
  • Competence in managing third-party vendors for specialized services (e.g., wireless surveys, penetration testing).
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills using standard tools (e.g., Excel, Word, Bluebeam, Wrike, AutoCAD, Revit).
  • Detail-oriented approach to quality assurance, interface management, and system commissioning.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in systems integration, technical project delivery, or design coordination within large-scale capital or infrastructure projects.
  • 5+ years of technical field experience in a construction environment.
  • Direct experience supporting design development and construction documentation for complex technical systems.
  • Hands-on involvement in testing and commissioning of integrated systems in lab or live environments.
  • Experience working within a P3 or highly regulated environment (e.g., healthcare, transportation, education, government) is preferred.
  • Previous coordination with general contractors, consultants, engineers, and trades during design and construction phases.
  • Experience managing or liaising with external technical service providers for specialized system deliverables.
  • At least 2 years previous supervisory experience is preferred
  • Relevant trade certification and experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of various construction processes and methods.
  • Knowledge of construction scheduling software like MS Project or Primavera.
