Industry: Civil Construction – Underground Utilities (Water, Storm, Sanitary)A respected and growing local civil contractor in Vancouver is looking for an experienced Civil Superintendent to lead small pipe utility installations across a mix of urban and suburban projects.You'll be running point on the ground and working closely with project managers and crews to ensure high-quality work is delivered safely, on time, and within spec — all while keeping in line with municipal codes and standards.What You’ll Be Doing
- Oversee the day-to-day field operations for underground utility work (storm, sanitary, water)
- Coordinate site logistics, crew schedules, equipment, and materials
- Ensure full compliance with local bylaws, utility regulations, and safety standards
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve issues fast
- Monitor progress, inspect work, and maintain high quality standards
- Lead daily tailgate and toolbox meetings — safety and communication first
- Manage documentation, redlines, and reports for progress tracking and handover
- 5–10 years of civil construction experience with a focus on utilities and small pipe work
- Strong understanding of Metro Vancouver codes, bylaws, and permit processes
- Proven leadership experience managing multiple crews and sub-trades
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, utility plans, and site layouts
- Excellent communication and leadership skills — you know how to keep a crew motivated
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- Safety certifications (OFA Level 1, CSTS, etc.)
- Competitive Salary: $150K–$160K depending on experience
