- Spearhead the development of a new electrical consulting division within a growing engineering firm
- Deliver expert consulting services, including system evaluations, feasibility studies, and technical recommendations
- Design and develop electrical infrastructure for building projects, including:
- Main power distribution
- Backup and emergency power systems
- Interior and exterior lighting solutions
- Building automation and control systems
- Service entry and utility connections
- Prepare full design packages including drawings, specifications, and tender documents
- Ensure all designs meet applicable codes and standards, including the Ontario Building Code and Canadian Electrical Code
- Oversee electrical project scope from concept through construction, ensuring quality and compliance
- Conduct construction site inspections and provide technical oversight during implementation
- Manage contract administration and coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and clients
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver fully integrated engineering solutions
- Represent the company in client meetings, presentations, and industry events
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through professional communication and service delivery
- Promote knowledge sharing, mentorship, and continuous learning as the division expands
- Identify opportunities for innovation, process improvement, and added client value
- Work independently with a high degree of autonomy, while contributing to a collaborative company culture Requirements:
- Legal eligibility to work and reside in Canada.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline from a recognized post-secondary institution
- Licensed with or eligible for licensure through Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)
- Over 10 years of consulting experience in electrical engineering, with a strong focus on building systems
- Skilled in using design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, or comparable software
- In-depth understanding of the Ontario Building Code, Canadian Electrical Code, and relevant industry standards
- Clear and effective communicator, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to explain technical details to various audiences
- Proven analytical thinker with a keen eye for detail and a dedication to delivering high-quality work
- Must hold a valid driver's license and have access to reliable transportation
- Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset and enthusiasm for developing and leading a new business stream
- Demonstrated experience working with clients and coordinating with multidisciplinary design teams
- Strong organizational and time management skills; able to juggle multiple priorities efficiently
- Team-oriented, with a passion for mentorship and fostering a collaborative learning environment
