Brief Description:Our employer is one of Canada's fastest-growing and leading suppliers of seasonal, stationery, and General Merchandise products to independent and major retailers in North America, the Caribbean, Central, and South America. Located in Vaughan, Ontario.They operate in a 150,000 sq. ft. office, distribution, and Showroom facility with off-site satellite warehouses to service our retailers efficiently.They are looking for an experienced Graphic Designer/Illustrator with a proven track record in Creative Graphic Designs, specifically with Consumer Packaging and Production background. This role will appeal to a results-oriented, Creative Graphic Designer specifically in Product Packaging Design. Proficient both with digital and traditional artwork, print and packaging design, and who enjoys significant challenge in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.Job Function:
- Creating creative custom graphic designs/Illustrations for product packaging and production, ensuring brand consistency
- Creating and updating catalogues, flyers and other marketing materials
- Supporting the sales department to create and manage designs from concept through to final deliverables
- Working closely with the graphic team to develop branding materials, new design concepts, Illustrations, graphics and layouts
- Designing, illustrating, size, colour, interpret/understand colour palettes
- Creating and developing artwork (digital, illustrative, typography)
- Ensure graphics are properly executed from creative concept to production in accordance with company quality standards
- Present graphics at various stages of the design process for review
- Researching market trends for new graphic concepts and sharing ideas with the team
- Photography and editing of sample products as required
Job Requirement:Education
- Graphic Design Diploma
- 3+ years of recent related experience as a Graphic Designer/Illustrator in Packaging Designs
- Strong understanding of the CPG industry, branding, and product development/design
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven team environment with multiple projects
- Work efficiently within tight deadlines for graphic creation
- Ability to work independently and strong leadership skills
- Creative Illustration
- Excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
- Photography and editing skills
- Strong conceptual and creative design skills
- Must have great attention to detail, eye for typography and kerning
- Effective communication of ideas and key information to the team
- Flexible, strong written and verbal communication skills (English)
- Time management and organizational skills to manage priorities and workflow
- Portfolio Required
- Understand the vision of the brand and product direction
- Self-confident and resilient to constructive criticism on design feedback
