- Mobilize and direct the resources assigned in order to achieve maximum contribution to fixed costs and profits.
- Establish and monitor construction work schedules.
- Lead and direct project resources to achieve cost, schedule, quality, and safety objectives.
- Establish, monitor, and adjust construction schedules to ensure timely project delivery.
- Supervise and allocate work to foremen and field teams, ensuring productivity and performance standards are met.
- Forecast project financials, manage budgets, and report on operational performance.
- Maintain inventory control of materials, equipment, and plant resources.
- Administer safety programs, labour agreements, and contract requirements in accordance with company procedures and legislation.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including diaries, disputed work records, force accounts, and extra work orders.
- Build and maintain strong customer, supplier, and internal stakeholder relationships.
- Support hiring, training, coaching, and development of team members to build a high performance culture.
- Promote compliance with environmental, health, safety, and corporate policies.
- Identify opportunities for operational improvement, innovation, and cost effective resource management.
- Support execution of sales/marketing strategies and contribute insights on market opportunities.
- Communicate significant project developments to the District Manager and promote the company’s best interests.
- Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 7–10 years of heavy civil construction experience, including MTO, sewers, watermains, retaining walls, and roadworks.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, safety regulations (OHSA), quality standards, and contract documents.
- Proven ability to supervise field crews, manage subcontractors, and coordinate multiple work fronts.
- Skilled in reading drawings, managing site logistics, controlling costs, and maintaining accurate project documentation.
- Effective leadership, communication, and problem solving skills with the ability to coach and motivate teams.
- Ability to build strong relationships with clients, inspectors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to work in varying weather conditions.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
