Senior Associate, Corporate Accounting (12 month contract)The opportunityJoin our Corporate Accounting team and play a key role in managing General Ledger operations and supporting core financial processes. This opportunity is responsible for overseeing the maintenance of the General Ledger, leading monthly through annual close activities, and managing daily bank reconciliations and offshore administration funding. The role also supports internal controls testing, external and statutory audits, and key payment processes for Member Services and People & Culture.Who you'll work withYou will partner with various internal stakeholders including, People & Culture, Finance and Tax.What you'll doManage and maintain the General Ledger including Chart of Account, Cost Centre and Project hierarchiesSupport period-end close activities including preparing journal entries, GL interface maintenance, bank account reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations (e.g., fixed assets, prepaids, and accruals)Support external auditors for OTPPB and offshore administration entity audits by providing details and analysis of General Ledger balancesCollaborate with Tax and external consultants on income tax and indirect tax filing and tax audit processes (including recoveries)Provide financial administration support to offshore administration entities, including cash flow management and regulatory reporting and filingsLead or participate in special projects by providing the required technical, accounting and financial reporting specificationsAssist with ensuring adequate training of internsResponsible for updating and maintaining user access rights (actor context) to ensure users have access to relevant data setsResponsible for updating and maintaining cost centre, GL account and Project users in the General LedgerThis position must possess accounting knowledge and experience of other finance functions and have a firm knowledge of Teachers’ pension process to facilitate the approval of reconciliations and preparation of management reports and analyses.This position will have to both identify opportunities/requirements and develop solutions/courses of action where there sometimes are no internal precedentsWhat you'll needThree - five years’ experience in accounting/finance department Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills to prepare reports both written and verbal and liaise with contacts inside and outside OTPPEffective planning and organizational skills to set priorities and co-ordinate period-end tasks to meet deadlinesHighly motivated team player who is able to meet the challenges of a fast-paced environment, can manage multiple tasks and thrives on developing new skillsAbility to work independently and with minimal guidanceAdvanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Power BI and strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint is an assetUniversity degree in Business Administration/Bachelor of Commerce or equivalentCompletion of CPA program OR equivalent international accreditation/designationVery good knowledge and practical understanding of accounting theoryInternal systems knowledge and experience in developing reporting and analysis specificationsOTPP experience preferredWhat we’re offering The Base Salary range for this level is as follows: $105,000 - $155,000.
