The business develops sophisticated desktop software used in 3D visualization, design, and real-time environments.The company is entering a major modernization and rebuild phase involving a complex, graphics-heavy legacy platform. This leader will help shape engineering strategy, guide architectural direction, improve release discipline, and help lead the next chapter of the product.This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who is comfortable operating close to the technology while leading a tenured team through meaningful technical change. The environment requires pace, sound judgment, accountability, and a willingness to make clear decisions to move a complex product and team forward.What You'll DoEngineering LeadershipLead and develop a team of roughly 10–20 engineers across software engineering and DevOpsDrive execution against a modernization and rebuild roadmapRaise standards across quality, testing, performance, and delivery disciplineAssess team capability, identify gaps, and help shape the organization needed for the next phase of growthArchitecture and ModernizationLead a significant modernization or rebuild of a complex desktop productGuide key architectural decisions across platform foundations, performance, rendering, and graphics-heavy workflowsBalance valuable legacy concepts with modern engineering approachesMake practical, timely decisions on where to preserve, refactor, or rebuildHands-On Technical LeadershipStay close to the code through design reviews, architecture spikes, technical problem-solving, and selective hands-on contribution when neededHelp resolve meaningful technical blockersBring sound judgment around performance, system design, graphics-heavy applications, and real-time constraintsStakeholder EngagementCommunicate effectively with executives, engineers, and external stakeholdersRepresent engineering in customer-facing and industry settings as neededWhat We're Looking ForMust-HavesStrong background in desktop, real-time, or performance-sensitive software environmentsProven experience leading a major modernization or rebuild of a complex productHands-on technical credibility, with the ability to review code, challenge architecture, and guide engineering directionExperience leading engineering teams in the 10–20 person rangeComfortable improving engineering process, release discipline, and delivery maturityExperience in at least one of the following, or a similarly complex technical environment: 3D visualization, simulation, gaming, virtual production, AR/VR, robotics, CAD, or related graphics-heavy systemsStrong understanding of 3D graphics, rendering pipelines, and graphics-heavy systemsExposure to real-time and/or hardware-integrated environmentsExperience applying modern engineering tools, including AI-assisted workflows, to improve team effectiveness and deliveryComfortable operating in an environment that requires pace, accountability, and the ability to make difficult decisions when neededStrongly PreferredExposure to geometry, drafting, or CAD-style product conceptsExperience working within complex legacy platforms where modernization must be balanced with continuity, performance, and customer impactComfortable operating in high-visibility, reputationally sensitive environmentsLeadership StyleComfortable driving change in a legacy environmentAble to combine technical depth with strong judgment and executionInterested in growing into a broader long-term technical leadership mandateHow to ApplyIf you are interested in exploring this opportunity, please contact:AnushaSRA Staffing is committed to fair and inclusive hiring practices.
