
Litigation Legal Assistant - Permanent

- Provide high-level support to legal professionals with busy practices
- Draft, format, proofread, and file legal documents for Ontario Courts
- Manage multiple calendars, including scheduling meetings, court appearances, and arbitration hearings, while tracking all related deadlines
- Maintain organized and confidential client files, both digital and physical
- Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and other external parties
- Review legal documents for accuracy and completeness
- Support billing and time entry processes, ensuring timely and accurate submissions
- Use legal software and tools for case management, e-discovery, and document automation
- Provide administrative support during court proceedings and client meetings, including preparation and follow-up
- Collaborate with legal professionals and other assistants to meet deadlines and adapt to shifting priorities
- Ensure compliance with legal standards and ethical guidelines
- Deliver excellent client service and help maintain strong client relationships
- Perform other administrative tasks as needed to support the firm's operations
- Post-secondary education in Office Administration (Legal), Law Clerk program or related field preferred
- 3+ years of experience in Civil Litigation
- Advanced understanding of the Rules of Civil Procedure
- Experience with Ontario court processes
- Proficiency in legal software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Bilingual (French and English) is preferred
- Understanding of legal documentation and production sequences.
- Familiarity with key business cycles and procedures (e.g. closings, court filings)
