  • Work to maintain daily building operations, maintenance and repairs.
  • Operate and maintain all high-pressure steam, hot water heating and all other pressure piping equipment as per ABSA regulations.
  • Dismantle machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs. Re-assemble and test after repair.
  • Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot all HVAC equipment.
  • Maintain waste water systems by testing and treatment of all system and process loops.
  • Operate power tools and machine shop machinery (saws, drills, milling machines, welders)
  • Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing routine preventive and corrective maintenance requirements on engines, compressors, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines
  • Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • On problems with higher complexity, consult with supervisor and/or peer mechanics for guidance/instructions to succeed.
  • Assisting outside contractors on major repairs of systems and complex machinery.
Job Requirements:
  • 2+ years of experience in similar positions in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in mechanical repairs, a strong asset.
  • 5th Class Power Engineering Certificate.
  • Must be available to work rotating shifts of 8 hours or more per day (hours vary between 5am-8pm or later depending on needs of the business).
  • Must be available to work overtime or weekends when needed.
  • Must have your own steel toe boots.
  • Adhere to all company and Alberta OH&S operating and safety procedures and policies.
  • Knowledge of fire suppression systems, alarm systems, mechanical, HVAC, electrical, control systems, would be an asset.
  • Be able to work independently and work cohesively in a team environment.
