- Liaises with Client Corporate Real Estate representatives to identify business drivers, strategic priorities, existing workflow & processes, and asset information and data systems.
- Monitors and reports on physical and functional state of client asset portfolio.
- Responsible for creating a Strategic Asset Management Plan and program maturity improvement roadmap.
- Assess asset data quality and provide recommendations for data collection.
- Responsible for client deliverables including work such as, development of an Asset Management Plan, recommended capital plan, budget, project scoping documents and analysis of assessments.
- Contributes to the development of the implementation plans and project charters to execute capital plan deliverables.
- Maintains a register of asset risks and completes research to determine mitigation strategies.
- Completes stress tests of asset strategies and capital planning scenarios.
- May be responsible for periodic capital expenditure reporting to senior client management.
- Tailors lifecycle management strategies to client needs.
- Defines asset condition assessment methodology and identifies asset criteria for assessments based on industry standards and facility requirements.
- Develops and/or applies technical design standards, process, direction and oversight to the resources conducting asset assessments, annual building inspections and other specialized asset assessments.
- Audits and conducts quality assurance reviews of asset data.
- May conduct condition assessments of building systems and prepares written reports detailing findings and recommendations.
- Collaborates with relevant concerned parties to continuously refine and implement asset assessment management processes and tools.
- Monitor and meet financial targets, monitor program efficiencies, collaborate with finance team.
- Manage team utilization target for team members.
- Collaborate with other business service lines to increase revenue.
- Develops and maintains effective relationships with clients and account leads.
- Resolve escalated project issues, manage client expectations, ensure client satisfaction.
- Support new client transition process for capital planning, data management, and property assessments.
- Prepares and ensures all deliverable submissions are professional and suitable for client submission.
- Conducts research on leading asset management practices.
- Completes lessons learned reviews and identifies improvement or new opportunities related to asset management.
- Provides technical subject matter expertise related to asset management.
- Responsible for day-to-day client relationship management.
- Escalates issues to senior management proactively.

- University degree in relevant field such as engineering, building science, mathematics/statistics, data science or business management.
- 6 years of capital planning work experience or related experience such as capital project delivery, operations & maintenance, statistical forecasting or infrastructure planning.
- Thorough understanding of the principles of asset assessment and building science including fundamental knowledge of typical building systems and site components.
- Experience presenting recommendations and securing funding approval from senior and executive management.
- Familiarity with ISO 55001, Asset Management Standard and O.Reg 588/17, Infrastructure for Jobs and Prosperity Act.
- Familiar with project delivery principles and statistical methods for forecasting.
- Fundamental knowledge of national and provincial building codes and regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Practice E2018-01 “Standard Guide for Property Condition Assessments: Baseline Property”.
- Fundamental knowledge of general building design, construction and facility operation.
- Familiarity with procurement strategies including private and public sector practices.
- Experience with asset management software systems.
- Ability to work with a team and provide direction to staff.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills along with presentation abilities.
- Strong computer skills including the ability to learn and leverage new data analytics tools.
- Professional Engineering Designation an asset.
- Asset Management designations an asset.
- LEED Certification an asset.
- PMP Certification an asset.
