- Oversee and manage financial operations across multiple business units, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and timeliness in reporting
- Assist in managing and developing the accounting and finance team across Winnipeg and U.S. operations
- Ensure accurate classification and recording of all financial transactions across the group of companies
- Lead the preparation, review, and completion of monthly financial statements and management reports
- Lead and continuously improve month-end close processes, driving efficiencies and reducing reporting timelines
- Prepare Canadian and U.S. year-end financials for external auditors and act as the primary liaison throughout the audit process
- Manage and oversee intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and eliminations across entities
- Perform detailed variance analysis, providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership
- Produce timely and accurate external reporting for lenders, shareholders, and senior leadership
- Support and manage foreign exchange (FX) activities, including monitoring exposure and ensuring proper accounting treatment
- Work within a cross-border environment, ensuring compliance with both Canadian and U.S. financial and regulatory requirements
- Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff, fostering a high-performance and accountable team culture
- Collaborate with operational leaders to provide financial guidance and support business decision-making
- Partner closely with the Director of Finance to transition responsibilities and strengthen departmental effectiveness
- Develop, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to support business performance and strategic planning
- Drive process improvements, standardization, and challenge existing practices to increase efficiency and accuracy
- Collaborate with the leadership team on special projects, including financial analysis and contract reviews
- Participate in and lead financial and operational projects as required
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- CPA designation preferred; candidates with significant relevant experience will be considered
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance
- Proven experience working in a cross-border (Canada/U.S.) environment
- Strong management and supervisory experience with the ability to lead, mentor, and develop teams
- Experience working across multiple business units or entities within a complex organization
- Solid understanding of foreign exchange, intercompany accounting, and multi-entity consolidations
- Advanced experience with month-end close processes and process optimization
- Strong analytical skills, particularly in variance analysis and financial reporting
- Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a proactive, collaborative approach
- Demonstrated ability to build effective cross-functional relationships across finance and operations
- Highly motivated individual with a desire to grow into a senior leadership
- Continuous improvement mindset with the confidence to challenge the status quo
- Strong interest and capability in managing both financial and operational projects
