Our client, a dynamic and rapidly growing company based in downtown Calgary, is looking for a detail-oriented and adaptable Accounts Payable Accountant to join their evolving finance team. This is an exciting opportunity for a well-rounded accounting professional to play a key role in supporting day-to-day financial operations, month-end close, reconciliations, and process improvements.With a culture built on innovation, efficiency, and cross-functional collaboration, this role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is eager to contribute to a finance function that is actively evolving to support business growth.Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform general accounting duties, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close activities
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports and summaries
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and assist with maintaining accurate financial records
  • Support the accounts payable process, including invoice review and payment processing (as needed)
  • Assist with accruals, intercompany entries, and variance analysis
  • Maintain and ensure the accuracy of data in accounting systems, including QuickBooks Online
  • Monitor and reconcile bank accounts and credit card transactions
  • Participate in audits by preparing supporting documentation and responding to requests
  • Collaborate across departments to gather financial data and improve reporting accuracy
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including the adoption of new tools and accounting processes
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 2–4 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a fast-paced or evolving organization
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and month-end processes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data manipulation)
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online is considered an asset
  • Familiarity with Float Financial Cards is an asset but not required
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Effective communicator with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • A proactive mindset and openness to process improvement and automation
  • Working toward a CPA designation is an asset
