Our client, a dynamic and rapidly growing company based in downtown Calgary, is looking for a detail-oriented and adaptable Accounts Payable Accountant to join their evolving finance team. Perform general accounting duties, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close activities
Prepare and analyze financial reports and summaries
Reconcile general ledger accounts and assist with maintaining accurate financial records
Support the accounts payable process, including invoice review and payment processing (as needed)
Assist with accruals, intercompany entries, and variance analysis
Maintain and ensure the accuracy of data in accounting systems, including QuickBooks Online
Monitor and reconcile bank accounts and credit card transactions
Participate in audits by preparing supporting documentation and responding to requests
Collaborate across departments to gather financial data and improve reporting accuracy
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including the adoption of new tools and accounting processes
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
2–4 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a fast-paced or evolving organization
Solid understanding of accounting principles and month-end processes
Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data manipulation)
Experience with QuickBooks Online is considered an asset
Familiarity with Float Financial Cards is an asset but not required
Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and organizational skills
Effective communicator with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
A proactive mindset and openness to process improvement and automation
Working toward a CPA designation is an asset
