As the VP, Commercial Insurance Sales, you will lead the strategic direction and execution of commercial sales initiatives, ensuring sustainable growth, client retention, and operational excellence. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Sales Strategy & Execution:
o Develop and implement strategic sales plans to drive organic growth through new business, cross-sell, and upsell opportunities.
o Partner with sales and service teams to achieve or exceed production targets while enhancing the overall client experience.
  • Team Leadership & Performance Management:
o Lead, coach, and develop a team of producers and account leaders, fostering a high-performance, accountable sales culture.
o Conduct regular performance reviews, pipeline discussions, and strategy sessions to optimize results and support continuous improvement.
  • Client Experience & Retention:
o Ensure adherence to service standards and oversee the full new business and renewal lifecycle to maximize retention and satisfaction.
o Collaborate with Account Executives and Account Managers to deliver value-added solutions and strengthen client relationships.
  • Operational Alignment & Cross-Functional Collaboration:
o Work closely with operations, marketing, and claims teams to streamline workflows and enhance service delivery.
o Monitor KPIs, analyze reports, and optimize resource allocation, including book-of-business management and lead distribution.
  • Market Engagement & Carrier Relationships:
o Build and maintain strong relationships with insurance carriers and industry partners while staying informed on market trends and product developments.
o Represent the organization at industry events, reinforcing brand presence and identifying growth opportunities.
  • Talent Development & Culture Building:
o Attract, retain, and develop top talent while fostering an entrepreneurial, collaborative, and client-focused culture.
o Promote continuous learning, professional development, and adherence to compliance and licensing standards.Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should demonstrate the following:
  • Education & Experience:
o Post-secondary education in Business, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
o 5-10+ years of commercial insurance brokerage experience, with at least 3+ years in a leadership capacity.
  • Technical Skills:
o Strong knowledge of commercial insurance products, underwriting processes, and brokerage operations.
o Experience with CRM platforms, reporting tools, and performance analytics.
  • Key Competencies:
o Proven ability to lead high-performing sales teams and deliver consistent revenue growth.
o Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
o Strategic thinker with strong execution capabilities and a focus on continuous improvement.
