Staff AccountantWe are searching for a junior to intermediate accountant looking to take the next step in their career with a dynamic contract! The client is a professional accounting firm seeking an experienced QuickBooks Online (QBO) Staff Accountant to take ownership of day-to-day bookkeeping while the owner focuses on business development and AI-driven process improvements. This is a part-time contract role to start, with strong potential to convert to full-time once workload increases.Your success will be defined by your ability to:

Perform end-to-end bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online across multiple clients
Create and maintain bank rules, categorize transactions, and reconcile accounts
Complete high-quality trial balances, including second-level review (chart of accounts mapping, error investigation, balance reasonability)
Communicate directly with clients for transaction clarification (email-based, minimal meetings)
Prepare clean, well-organized files ready for review and year-end/tax work
Lock closed periods and maintain file integrity
Occasional project work (cleanup, catch-up bookkeeping)

Your strengths include:

2+ years hands-on QuickBooks Online experience (must be current and proficient)
Strong understanding of bookkeeping fundamentals beyond basic data entry
Ability to review financial statements, identify issues, and self-correct
High attention to detail, strong organization, and critical thinking
Comfortable investigating unclear transactions and researching solutions independently
Client-facing email communication skills
QBO certification is a strong asset
Strong accounting knowledge is essential. CPA not required
