Your future starts here.PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Compensation Analyst to join our Total Rewards team. This role will support the administration and analysis of CPKC's compensation programs, ensuring competitive, equitable, and compliant practices across our North American operations. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working with data, and is eager to deepen their expertise in complex compensation structures.POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Generate and analyze compensation reports using HRIS systems (e.g. SAP, SuccessFactors) to support decision-making, benchmarking, and compliance.
- Administer CPKC's job evaluation framework, including evaluating new and existing roles, maintaining job descriptions, and ensuring consistency in grading and pay structures
- Support the management of our comprehensive compensation programs, with a focus on learning and contributing to our sophisticated equity plans (including stock options, Restricted Stock Units, Performance Stock Units, and Deferred Share Units)
- Coordinate vendor invoices for compensation-related services (e.g., survey providers, consultants) and liaise with Accounts Payable for timely processing and reconciliation
- Participate in market salary surveys, benchmarking studies and annual compensation planning cycles
- Assist with ad-hoc projects, such as pay equity analysis, incentive program reviews and regulatory reporting
- Ensure compliance with relevant labor laws and regulations across Canada, the US, and Mexico
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in compensation, total rewards, or HR analytics (railroad or transportation industry experience is an asset but not required)
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or progress toward certification is an advantage
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, IF Statements, pivot tables); experience with HRIS systems and data visualization tools is a plus
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights
