Candidate ProfileAt Read Jones Christoffersen LTD (RJC) the CAD/BIM Technologist creates detailed building models and drawings from design concepts, utilizing Revit to address challenges and enhance technical understanding. Responsibilities include customizing Revit tools, producing technical documentation, ensuring drawing quality, and coordinating with other disciplines while adhering to company standards.Salary Range: $54,000-$65,000Key ResponsibilitiesDuties include, but are not limited to:
  • Produce drawings and detail packages for building science and restoration projects.
  • Generate project-specific technical information with minimal guidance and supervision.
  • Develop finished drawings from general conceptual information and design notes.
  • Co-ordinate RJC’s drawings with those of other disciplines on projects.
  • Be accountable to Designers, Project Engineers and Technologists for drawing package production.
  • Suggest innovative solutions and implement where appropriate.
  • Visit sites as required to confirm existing conditions and dimensions.
  • Visit sites as required to understand the scope of work and project parameters.
  • Assist with site reviews and project administration on select projects.
Professional Qualifications & ExperienceEDUCATION
  • Diploma/Certificate in Civil/Structural/Architectural Drafting from accredited Technical College
  • Curriculum must have included courses about building science and/or structural design. Project Management course experience is a definite asset
EXPERIENCE
  • Working experience or education background with AutoCAD and Revit, Bluebeam
  • Familiarity with the consulting engineering and architectural industry will be an asset
  • Construction experience and familiarity with site safety will be an asset
